"Nissan Announces Pricing on Revised 2007 350Z [Jan. 9, 07]

NASHVILLE (Jan. 9, 2007) – Nissan North America, Inc. today announced the availability and pricing of the revised 2007 Nissan 350Z and Nissan 350Z Roadster. Both feature a number of enhancements – highlighted by a new, more powerful, next-generation 3.5-liter V6 engine and a new front end appearance. In addition, 350Z Coupe Touring and Grand Touring models receive standard Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System with steering wheel-mounted controls.

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the 2007 Nissan 350Z increases only $250 from 2006 on all models except the 350Z Roadster Enthusiast model, which increases $500 and includes front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags that are now standard on all Z Roadsters. The 2007 350Z went on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide on January 5, 2007.

“The Nissan Z has built a tradition of exciting performance and outstanding value for 37 years now,” said Bill Bosley, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. “This newest iteration, with its more powerful VQ-series V6, epitomizes the innovation and continuous improvement that has defined the Z’s success since its introduction in 1970.”

The new engine, which features nearly 80% redesigned major parts (except bolt, O-rings and clips), is rated at 306 horsepower* and 268 lb-ft of torque with both the close-ratio 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmissions.

The engine is part of Nissan’s VQ-series that has been on Ward’s “10 Best Engines” list for 13 consecutive years. The Z’s hood has been redesigned to accommodate the new dual intake system and to reflect the 2007 models’ more aggressive and sporty personality. Other refinements for 2007 include three new exterior colors – Solar Orange, San Marino Blue and Carbon Silver – and Roadster models receive a new optional gray convertible top (replaces the previous blue convertible top; a black top remains as standard).

All 350Zs continue to offer standard Nissan Advance Air Bag System with dual-stage front supplemental air bags, Zone Body construction with front and rear crushable zones and Active Head Restraints (except with Burnt Orange net seats). The Z has also earned NHTSA’s 5-star rating for side-impact crash test safety**. Pricing and Model Availability

For 2007, the Nissan 350Z Coupe is available in four models – 350Z 6MT, 350Z Enthusiast, 350Z Touring and 350Z Grand Touring. Starting MSRP for the 350Z Coupe with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission is $27,900. The Enthusiast Coupe adds cruise control, Traction Control System (TCS), Viscous Limited Slip Differential (VLSD), aluminum pedals and more, and is available in a 6-speed manual configuration starting at $29,600 or in a 5-speed automatic configuration starting at $30,600.

The 2007 Nissan 350Z Coupe Touring model is available with a 6-speed manual starting at $32,700 and with a 5-speed automatic configuration starting at $33,200. Touring models add a 7-speaker Boseâ audio system, heated power leather seats and, with manual transmission, standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

Nissan 350Z Coupe Grand Touring models start at $36,100 for the 6-speed manual configuration and $37,100 for the 5-speed automatic configuration, and add super-lightweight forged-alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, Brembo brakes and VDC for both the manual and automatic transmissions.

For 2007, the 350Z Roadster is offered in three models – Enthusiast, Touring and Grand Touring.

The 2007 Nissan 350Z Roadster Enthusiast with a 6-speed manual configuration starts at $35,550, while the 5-speed automatic configuration starts at $36,550. Both feature power seats, a glass rear window with rear defroster and a rear wind deflector.

The 350Z Roadster Touring trim adds a 7-speaker Boseâ audio system and heated leather seats and starts at $37,900 for the 6-speed manual configuration and $38,900 for the 5-speed automatic configuration. The 350Z Roadster Grand Touring model adds Brembo brakes and standard VDC for both the 6-speed manual configuration, which starts at $40,250, and the 5-speed automatic configuration, which starts at $41,250.

“The enhancements to the legendary Z for 2007 are a case of taking a great car and great value and upping the standard considerably,” said Bosley. “Its new engine makes a dramatic difference, while the new hood adds a fresh appearance while keeping all the ‘Z-ness” that legions of dedicated Z buyers have come to love.”

The obvious change is the new VQ35HR. The hood is changed slightly to accomodate the new motor. The tach is now a 9000 RPM tach with 7500 RPM redline. The new premium color is called solar orange.

Generally, when they announce pricing the cars start hitting the dealer lots shortly thereafter.

The hood bulge doesn't look bad. To bad it's not there to make room for a supercharger or twin turbos. And no track model, WTF. Guess they didn't sell many of them.

I like the hood bulge, sort of a throwback to the S30, and hopefully allows enough clearance to get a better flowing intake manifold

I want the higher redline, but Id expect a larger power bump than 6hp with that much higher of a redline. I mean, great it redline's at 7500...mine at 6700 or whatever...but I make my power 1k RPM sooner?

*sigh*

I still want it anyway. I dislike new engine configs being fitted to my car every damned year....outdating the old models like we're in a IT industry.

Blah to the track model anyway.

The base is the track model....assuming the base still doesn't have the VDC. Too bad you can't get the Brembos on it though.

No Leather + Brembos + No VDC = "Track Model", IMO

yeah, the enthusiast package with upgarded brakes would be "track" it's got your LSD, nicer pedals and no stupid VDC you have to turn off each time you start the car.

I'd like to see Nissan do a true enthusiast model, that does away with some of the "nice to have" BS like traction control and such, and lighten it up - via lightened exhaust, alluminum panels, etc. THen give it a clutch type rear diff, stickier tires, the brembo kit with NISMO pads and call it a day...

I'd trade mine in for that...or I could just build mine accordingly

306 HP is actually using the new SAE ratings. The bhp should be around 315. The peak torque is up from the rev-up model, and likely from the 287HP model as well (given it's using the new SAE rating) so looks like the HR motor will have a broader powerband to say the least. The new G35 Sedan was tested at 5.3 seconds to 60 and 13.8 @ 102.7 mph to the quarter mile by motor trend so there is defintely an improvement. Not to mention the 07 G35 sedan is 3600 lbs. The Z should be another increment faster.

Well...then let me rephrase "I'd expect a bigger jump than 15hp..."

:D

i'm sure the power band is broader, but i'd like to see it even higher considering the competition and price range...

I doubt this will happen unless they do another bump up for the redline and add in infintely variable exhaust cam timing. I say the new G Coupe might bring some extra ponies to the table. Then the redesigned Z will probably have at least the same power.

I was looking up the local Nissan dealer today for a part for the Titan. Looks like they have the 07's listed on the Nissan website now (www.nissanusa.com). It shows the new color options, Solar Orange, San Marino Blue, and Carbon Silver. Looks like I was wrong an an account that there would be a new premium color. I think they did away with that option completely and offers any of the available colors at the same price. The Solar Orange looks like a brighter version of the Burnt Orange. The San Marino Blue is essentially a dark blue (looks real nice). The Carbon Silver is similar to the Silverstone. PProbably a subtle differnce on the latter, but hard to tell what in the website. I may see if they have any brochures when I stop by to pick up the part.

Correction...The Solar Orange does appear to require an extra charge to have. I picked up a brochure and the dealer actually had several 07's on the lot including the 3 new colors. The Solar Orange looks like the inside of a Cantalope....Seriously. I didn't care for the The San Marino Blue is pretty nice. The Carbon Silver was inside a parking structure and it was cloudy out, so it was hard to tell what the difference is there.

The new hood doesn't look as pronounced as it does in the photos, but is still quite noticable. Looks pretty good in some angles and wierd in others.

According to the Brochure, the new Touring and Grand Touring models have Bluetooth capability. The brochures show that the left side steering wheel controls show some bluetooth control capability as well.

Other than the motor, not a lot of changes from the 06 model.

The 07 specifications also show it plays WMA files from the CD player. I don't think any of the previous versions did that before.
