I have 700mi. on a new Altima 2.5SL. Just love everything about the chassis, engine, and CVT thus far. I have been reading about the pre-cat on '06 and earlier 2.5's crumbling and causing cylinder wear and thus increased oil consumption. Can anyone tell me what, if anything, Nissan has done to insure this is not a problem with the '07? Was this problem ever corrected? Is the design of the '07 any different than previous years?

as mentioned in nissanclub.com, under your thread, this issue was fixed with the MY '06 and will not affect '07. I don't understand why you got the answer there and posted a thread here for it...?

I posted both at the same time. First time I've done that, as I am new to both forums. I was very concerned at the time.
