07/08 G35 Bose / Infiniti Studio on wheels / Burr Brown DAC system

I was complaining about some sound quality issues with this new Bose system with the Burr Brown Dac system...

But after doing further investigating, and testing, i found that the system sounds phenominal with certain songs... - particularly with high bit rate songs - ie over 200 kbps - ... I have a few Madonna songs with 320 kbps and it just sounds so clear, full, and sharp - it's awesome.

but with 128kbps songs and lower, it sounds - umm... like my old stock 96 acura integra system lol....

Anyways, anyone else really listening to sound quality on their Dac system? - and perhaps found kbps or other things like types of music make a diff?

That's why I don't keep any 128k songs...they just sound horrible....stupid napster

I think I posted some tips on the previous thread...

I spent over 2000 in sound system upgrades from Power caps to amps, subs, wiring and even replaced all speakers and added tweaters to the dash... But I still prefer the clarity of the BOSE...

I will admit, the bass was much louder in the previous setup, but what is the good of loud bass without appreciating the other frequencies of a song... so...

To get back to your post, I think you are absolutely right, I''ve got plenty of car audio experience, and I've found low quality tracks or even FM radio can produce, not just poor sound, but extreme vibrations and unwanted distortion...

I would likely agree the audio format will play a HUGE Role in the sound... I'm installing my system into the G35 this week, I'll let you know what happens when you add a 1000 watt setup (AMP SUB CAP ) to a stock G35 bose...
