I drive her hard and aggressively. Prob how hard people may drive there g35coupes or 350z's.

Get a transmission cooler came to my mind, because my fathers car(honda) transmission is going, and my friends ford rangers transmission is going. Mine seems to be running perfect still, and i keep up to maintanance but being at 100k and needing to make this car last long, do you think it's worth it?

The vq's are very torquey engines, and the m35x is a heavy car, so the transmission must take a lot of heat, especially how i drive her. You think it's worth the investment? transmission coolers don't seem to be too expensive compared to an engine oil cooler.

And in my sense, i feel that since the vq's are hot running engines, an oil cooler will just help in longetivity

Can i get your input?

Haha!:) You are comparing s*** to cake... Honda (and Acuras)are well known to have major problems with their trannys (speaking from my own experience), Ford, is Ford, so don't expect much, I have a few commercial vans Fords, GMC, and Chevrolets and all of them have troubles with transmissions... M35x and M45x transmission is a derivative of the transmission that the old nissan skyline had, therefore they are built to last forever (even if you drive hard), the VQ engine has won many times awards for being one of the best in the world( I believe #1 for at least 10 years). So, in my opinion don't worry about it! Nevertheless, if you feel like wasting money go ahead, it won't hurt. I think you would need such coolers only if you take it to the track, which would be stupid to take a 2 tonne car:)

The transmission in our cars is well over built, it was designed for a much larger load and HP rating. Off the top of my head, the max rating is something like 380HP.

This would explain why my car takes the manual shifting like a champ and asks for more. :chuckle:

Honda automatics are garbage. I know quite a few friends who've had theirs crap out. Whether or not the M's transmission is bulletproof, I know for sure that Honda's is not.
