Thanks for the info Pat... Since you have a different transmission, that means that there are 3 different transmission types that do this. Therefore it's not transmission, or shift related. My Z hasn't done this since I did the reset suggested above. The engine revs have now gone back up to about 850 at idle again. So much for lowering the idle speed. My Murano did the high rev stop again this weekend, after the dealer "fixed" it. My Z has not done it since I did the cpu and idle air reset.I think I will just have to put up with it until Nissan gets enough beefs about it to issue a real "fix" I'm going to let my dealer know about it for both cars and see if he can research it.

Thanks again all who chipped in.

Yeah my car is sleeping for another while but I will see if she does it again. It only happenned a few times and it never really bothered me. Of course its anoying but wtv, and it didn't rev as high also. Does yours do it in somewhat cooler temperatures? The first time it happenned to me I believe it was night time and maybe only like 18 celius or somewhere around that. The other few times it did it I can't remember what temperature it was outside.

Let's see,,,, if I remember my Canadian 18 C is somewhere around 65 f,. That's about right, it also does it at cooler temps, around 40 - 45 f. It's also usually during a fairly quick stop.

Yeah that quick stop symptom is one of them too. If I hit the brakes fairly hard and stop for like 3 seconds it will still be reving a little and then I'm just off again. I wonder if it wouldn't happen to be something like a defect in the tps ?
