OK so this is an issue that has got me fuming inside for some time now. Just don't stand behind me, if you get the drift....

The car's 3 years old (bought it new in August '06) and has just around 60k miles on it (70% highway driving). 95% of the time I've been the only person in the car, so that means the rear windows barely every see use, I could probably count how many times I've hit the button to roll them down... hmm let's see.... 30?

The car's not given me issues... until this past September, labor day weekend (I think). I rolled the rear two windows down, and what do I see.. the right side rear window is falling lower and lower.. I hit the power window button to roll UP, it does nothing.

So now this would be a warranty issue.. right? No. 3 years/36,000 miles. My a@@... I've had this exact NISSAN EPIC FAIL window regulator problem before with my then 3 year old '01 Nissan Xterra, 6 year old '01 Quest, and now '06 Sentra.. and the dealership wants $500 to fix this BULL54i7..

Nissan is KNOWN to have this power window problem with plenty of their models old and newish, and yet they have the nerve to ask for money to fix their low quality garbage. My family's owned probably 10 different cars (Dodge, Chevy, OLD Buick junk, Nissan) and not a SINGLE one including domestics have EVER had this issue, EXCEPT the 3 Nissans, without FAIL (or more like with total epic failure on Nissan's part to address this crap).

So I have a rear window that slides down an inch from driving around any bumps on the road, rainwater gets in now and then (and I HATE a messy interior and smells of any kind), my less than year old tint is scratched and damaged from the power window components inside rubbing against it as it slid down... I'm pissed.

What CAN I do? Warranty won't covery it (30k miles too late, 5 months too late).. I barely every use the damn thing and it breaks down - that's just F'd up.

Nissan - I hope you read these forums, because I've been an "enthusiast" for some time with your vehicles but BS like this is veering me more and more toward boring old Honda or Toyota.... FIX YOUR #H*T bastiges!!!

I got independent shops to do mine when they failed (both fronts, I think a rear one was dead when I got rid of the car too). I want to say it was $120 or so. It'd probably be a fairly easy DIY too, and the part itself is pretty cheap.

Hah I'm sure it's not as expensive as the stealership is quoting, but it's still a hassle, and still a cost to ME, because of Nissan's poor quality material and this is just 3 of their cars over a span of 5 years. I'm already looking forward to what sort of wonderful surprises my '09 Coupe will throw my way.
