Looking to replace my screen in my 06 m35x. Questions is does it matter if the vehicle had nav or not. I doubt it would just want to doubt check that any 06/07 screen would work

Yes, I believe so. If your car has Nav you want the 8 inch screen. The 7" one doesn't support Navi or DVD.

However, if you have the 7-inch one, it shouldn't matter what you get.

Well I have the non nav might as well upgrade to the 8 inch. Do you know if the display will be the same? I want to say I have seen a difference in the two.

I wish the screen was just a screen and didnt have control stuff in it. That all belongs in a central control unit anyway. And if it was just a screen we could upgrade to much nicer looking ones.

I had a non-nav 7 inch with the roof DVD screen. Out of curiosity I upgraded to the 8 inch and BAM! I got front DVD as well.

On the subject of better/more modern screens, I'll copy this thread here. It's an attempt at using a Y51 screen.

I should know by now what year your car is, sorry. I have an 09 with NAV + rear movie screen. Are you saying that the 8-inch front screen will work on my car? Asking because the older models did not have touch screens.
