Hi All~not sure if these have been posted before or not...couldn't find anything. I am having some trouble and looking for any guidance.

I have 2 issues ~ 1 is with a leak from somewhere into the seatbelt housing-driver and pass-and the other is with front passenger airbag indicator light which is under the hazard button.

The last month or so I have noticed that both my driver and passenger seatbelts are wet {when I draw them out}. Went to the dealer yesterday, sat for over 3 hours - they checked and said they checked the sunroof drains and they were not clogged and found no leaks. They don't know why the seatbelts are wet. My seatbelts are wet and the water has to be coming from somewhere. I am concerned about mold and mildew forming.

The other issue is with the front passenger airbag indicator light. It seems to be working in reverse, when it wants to. When my son {who is 83 lbs} sits in the front seat with belt fastened, the indicator light is on, showing the image that the airbag is OFF. This also happens when I have an adult sitting in it - approx. 200-250 lbs. When no one is in the seat and no seatbelt clicked, it does not light up, which means it is ON. On a rare occasion, it will work as it's supposed to when either my son or an adult is sitting in it. Dealer checked and said the codes were all fine - and if there was a problem I would see an indicator flashing on the dash, which I haven't seen yet.

I told my son that if it's still not working properly he will have to sit in the back for safety reasons...I don't want to chance it, needless to say he's NOT happy about that.

My next step was going to call another dealer to have them look into these issues, but I don't want to be driving all over the place if I don't have to.

Thanks ~ any help is appreciated!

Did the dealer even crack any panels to see the water and check the belt tensioner.

"Yep your seatbelt is wet, but we just left it there and didn't try to do anything with the water or actually trace where it is coming from." - dealer tech

Is the carpet wet around the floor in that area. Could be a door seal issue.

these two probs can probably b related, check ur front area carpet in the foot well to see if that's wet, also was the vehicle ever in an accident, i find it funny being at the lower part of the seat belt, check ur door seal, plugs in ur door jam, roof rack and sunroof for signs of rust, water penetration, also check ur headliner

My 08 has the same issue-on the passenger side. Only when washed, not in rain.

Can't see anything obvious, although I'd sure like to know if you found anything out, since my sunroof is an aftermarket unit installed before I purchased it.

Hello Michele

Did you ever resolve the wet seatbelt issue? I have the exact same problem on my 05 Pathfinder. I have not been to the dealer yet, but I have not been able to find water anywhere else inside of the vehicle.
