My aftermarket head unit works great and the blue wires are all connected and have been working fine for the past month but tonight when I went to play the radio no sound was being output from the speakers not even static and the sub relay wasn't clicking either. I think my amplifier is dead. I also checked the fuses and they were all ok. What could be left to test? And can I fix the amp myself? A used one on eBay is like $125 bucks which seems kinda steep for a used 14 yr old amp.

What make and model head unit did you install? The head unit has only been installed for a month; Is that right? Did you install other components like a PAC audio converter, new speakers, or anything else with the new head unit?

I took the amp apart and found a blown microchip on the board but it's a pioneer avh2440nex and the amp was connected to the RCA preouts on the back of the radio. It worked and sounded great till it went out a few nights ago.

When it comes to audio system system stuff, I have to rely on others for additional installation parts I would need to be sure everything works compatibly with what is already have installed from Nissan. The only source I know of to layout upfront and online all the goodies required for a clean install of a specific head unit into a specific vehicle is crutchfield.com. For your Pioneer AVH-2440NEX installed into a '06 Pathfinder, Crutchfield recommends a PAC ROEM-NIS2 Wiring Interface to retain your Bose amplifier. They also recommend a Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter to retain your steering wheel audio controls. I can't give you technical reasons why these items are recommended but they do have a support number to call and live chat online to get the specifics as to why they are needed. Obviously, you'll need amp now or fix the one you have if possible. Best of luck to you with all this. You'll be able to figure it out.
