Just wanted to share a story..

A buddy if mine has an 04 e46 m3 convertable, 6spd manual..

Pretty nice car, has a few mods..

So going home last night and meet him at a light, we both took off hard, had a good start next thing you know im doing 130mph and he is probably 3 cars behind me..
Pulled really nice he never got to catch up, even switched lanes a few times lol..

I love the m3s but m45s is where its at)) 4 door sedan killing a straight six that has won plenty of different awards for its perfomance.. LOL

Bragging about 130mph speeds on the public roads is simply idiotic bro!! :tisk:  :nono: You're bound to kill yourself and/or innocent motorist. :ohno:

Guessing the difference maker was the manual trans in the M3 and the ability of your buddy...

+1 to what seldomseen said...

The last time I checked, the highway is also a public road.

Also - any idiot can drag race in a straight line with an automatic transmission. Go get on a racetrack, one with curves, and try it again. You will learn quickly why that M3 got all of those well deserved awards.

Beating an 04 M3 convertible is not a huge feat. It's only 333HP and 264lb/ft straight six. Take on a 2010 M3 then live to tell the tale ;)
