I dont have this issueThe seat always returns to the memorized position; but I also have mine set so that when I unlock the doors it starts to adjust to the driver 1 or 2 profile; You do also have to link your key fob to a memory location; you cannot set the position, and the link to the fob 1 or 2 in one step; this is a 2 step procedure, the manual covers this off well;
Sometimes if the door is unlocked and I get it it will adjust the position while it starts; but pause about half way in the ignition cycle. I believe this is because the power is turned off to all parts of the car, minus the starter portion (ie, radio etc loose power for a 1/2 sec)
If your not switching into drive during this process, and have the fob associated corrected to the memory positions; there is no reason why they should stop at some location other than the memory position; If your dealer is telling you this is normal; they likely do not understand what is going on; I guess the question I would ask them is why in the world do you need memory seats if they do not return to the programed position?
check all the basics, like what I have noted above, see the sales guys - they likely know better how to program the fob/seats than the service guys do anyway - also; get them to pull the demo car around and show you the same thing happing on that car.... its not normal function, your job will be to prove that to them in order for them to look into it;
