Just took my ’06 M45 Sport for its 15K mile check-up and ICC update. Upon getting the car back, the view from my rear camera had changed. I’ve had the car for over a year, and the view never showed the bumper and part of the license plate in the lower quarter of the screen. The dealer says they didn’t change anything, yet the view is different.

He showed me the view from a brand new M45 on the lot and it showed the bumper too. Anybody had the same issue?

Well, not a bad question but in the original view, the bumper was just barely out of view, so backing into something wasn't really an issue.

In the new view, 1/4 of the screen looks at my bumper and license plate. I suppose if I leave my coffee cup on the bumper sometime it would be helpful.

Besides, it makes me nervous when the dealer says they didn't change anything when clearly something changed, whether they were aware they did it or not.

It's not the end of the world, but I was wondering why it changed: Infiniti making a quick change to appease lawyers, perhaps?

Unfortunately, no longer a Nissan or Infiniti, but continuing here at NICO!

Welcome to NICO!

They might have adjusted the camera location, I think.

However, as long as the lines for where the car would end up while backing, are in the right location, I would prefer some of the bumper to show. I will check my boss's Q45 next week to see what shows up there (my car does not have the camera, so I cannot tell).

First of all, this is Napa. We don't smoke, we drink!

Yup, no obvious mechanical camera adjustments apparent anywhere. It looks like a fixed focal length camera. Not much to adjust. This is why it's such an odd thing have change ... not life-threatening, just weird. Hence, the post.

You CAN adjust the camera angle actually....thru the secret diagnostic mode.

Turn the stereo OFF...the hit the settings button, and turn your volume knob clockwise a few rotations or so.

It will lead you in...find the camera setting and adjust. You can also leave your camera on when driving (forward) although it sure isnt advised...but of course ive tried it.

Not sure if your dealer did this or not....but it can be fixed.

I tried it, I turned off the radio and turn thr knob and nothing. I tried it with the car off, does that matter? does it have to be on? Also how can u use it well driving? I think thats cool, I just want to try it as well, not for everyday use of course.

When i said that there was no adjustment for the camera, i was talking about the actual mount in the trunk. I was not referring to the settings menu that infinititech is talking about.

Cool, ok I got it, thanks. All u have to do is hold in the the settings button and give the volume knob a fast turn once and it works.
