I have recently purchased a 2006 M35 X. I live in Canada, where the temperature gets very cold. It was -34C overnight, the car was parked in a garage and the block heater was plugged in. When attempting to start the car this morning there was no power at all, no interior lights etc.. Has anyone else had a total power outage like this??

I live in Colorado where our temps get down to single digits at night and sometimes in the -'s. Even at that pace I didnt have to get a new battery, but it did die over the coarse of a few weeks of not driving it or starting it. What are the symptoms? Is it clicking when you try to start it? Is it just dead? I might look into getting a charger on it and if it does start after a good charge and it does this multiple times you better get a good battery with plenty of cold cranking amps. Check also to see there are full fluid levels in your battery. The block warmer will keep the engine from freezing and make it easier to start. The battery is still getting to cold which the dealer does not think about when selling the car to you. Charge it up and try that first then go new battery.

Hope that helps! Kyle

Hi K,Thanks for the reply. Actually I hadn't driven the Infiniti for about 2 weeks before this happening. It sat in the garage for about two weeks and then worked fine for two days, the third day it was dead. I just boosted it. The second I put the cables on it, the interior lights, door locks, everything was OK. Started without any trouble but after driving it for 5 minutes and bringing back home it is dead again. I will look into getting a new battery tomorrow, I will call the dealer here and see what they have for HD batteries for this, if any.L_4
