06 m35x heated/cooled seat

Hi All, have a 2006 m35x and just recently I noticed the driver seat heated seat function was no longer working. When I turn the car on and the heated seat is in the on position the light on the dial illuminates for about 5-10 seconds and then goes out and when I flipped to the cooled function it won’t work. However, When I start the car and move to the cooled setting first it cools and stays on without issue (over 10 minutes) but as soon as I spin to heat on the dial the illuminated light goes off in about 5-10 seconds.

Any thoughts on what would cause this or fixes I could try for someone with hardly any mechanical background?
