Is this a simple DIY? Im clueless as to where this part is. Please help lol. Thanks for the link.atlM35 wrote:Most mechanics won't do it since it's technically illegal.
You just unscrew the two back O2 sensors, screw these into the bungs, then put the O2 sensors into those.
Keep the battery unplugged while doing this and the code should be gone by the time you're done and everything is put back together.

I sent the seller of the spacers on ebay. I told him about the SES issues and he said that it depends on the tip of the sensors. If the tip is 1/2 inch it will work. He also said that if the tip is about the same size of the threads they wont work.atlM35 wrote:Most mechanics won't do it since it's technically illegal.

I just purchased the spacers on the first link you sent just to take a shot and see. Once it comes and I get it installed I will keep everyone posted to see if it fixed the SES light issue.atlM35 wrote:looking again, there are longer one like these:

that should work, but then we come across clearance issues where the O2 sensor might hit the underbody of the car from being extended out so far.
you could also cap off the existing bungs and have an exhaust shop weld in new ones in a location that will let you install the setup... if you can find a shop that will touch it.
