Should keep it shut.
it's held down by clips.. just pry it up at the edge.M4T5 wrote:AJ,
I looked through the online service manual posted here, but did not find anything that describes the removal of the center console and its sole components. Maybe I missed it..... I looked for quite some time though. Anyone care to find the break down on the center console in the online service manual?

glad it worked out.ajsdreamII wrote:Thank you so much RM450GT!
I was able to do just as you described and remove the entire cup holder unit. The clips on the side that hold the door closed was not holding the arm in place. I tried to move the clips forward, that capture the arm, with a small screw driver. I was successful in moving the clips out so that they could grab the arm. The door works even better now and is much smoother than before! You must be careful though not to over bend the clips.
Thanks again to RM450GT and the rest of the replies... even holding it down with epoxy?!
Well gee. From your quote noted above, it sounded like you just wanted the lid to "stay closed..."ajsdreamII wrote:Thank you so much RM450GT!<the inability to stay closed> Thanks again to RM450GT and the rest of the replies... even holding it down with epoxy?!
