Having read the owners manual and the shop manual, I am not seeing a recommendation as to where to jack-up the car, although I have found mention of placing the jack stands where the spare tire jack connects.

The reason I am asking this basic question is that on my old Q45, I found that you had to be very rather choosy about where to place the floor jack as there were not that many places strong enough to handle the weight. If fact, the FSM recommended using wooded blocks between the jack and the frame.

wood blocks are recommended between the jack and frame to prevent damage and just gives the added clearance. as for the m if you plan to jack it up from the rear you can place it under the either control arm. you can lift it from the diff but i wouldnt really recommend it. i like the control arm because it tends to be the vehicles unsprung weight.
