Recently decided to get tires changed at Discount Tire. Had no transmission issues before coming in. Ended up getting the stock tire size 245/45/18, and all seems well till I leave and find that my car is in limp mode with rough shifting before ultimately getting stuck in 4th gear. Have been trying to figure out my options of things to check that could be causing the CEL, before I end up dropping the valve body to check the solenoid and typical connections to the solenoid. Could all be just s*** luck and coincidence, but could something they did have caused this code to pop up? Planning on checking speed sensors, is there anything else I should check? I also did the Infiniti ECU reset procedure, but after a short period of driving it put itself back into safe mode, and also doesnt allow me to use manual shifting. I appreciate any feedback!

Speed sensors would be my first bet. I would have also immediately took it back to that shop.

I did take it back to the shop but Discount tire doesn't do mechanical work, they only take off tires and put them back on supposedly. They said if I brought it to a mechanical shop then figured out if the issue was something of their doing that they will pay to fix it. But if its something as simple as cleaning the speed sensors or testing their connections, I'm thinking no harm no foul. I don't know how they could have damaged the transmission by simply putting my car on a lift though, so I'm definitely hoping it is just speed sensors and I won't have to drop the valvebody. I appreciate the feedback

Update, tested the wheel speed sensors and I believe they are still functioning as they are supposed to, Left front was around 155.2 ohms, Right front was 154.3. Im not sure if that much of a difference could cause the issue or not. Really hoping to avoid dropping the valvebody so any other ideas to solutions before I do so would be great. Potentially transmission speed sensor?

P1757 is an electrical fault in the Front Brake solenoid, usually wiring or a bad solenoid coil. Sensors won't cause it. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can try retouching the TCM connector pins. Cracked solder is a pretty common failure point. If you don't find any wiring issues inside the pan, chances are you're into a Valve Body.

I figured that may be the case, was just very strange timing for this issue to occur so was trying to correlate the tire change with the issue. After watching a few videos on it, I think soldering the TCM pins is doable. I believe its something I can do myself, I'm afraid shops around the area would just write off repairing and opt in for a new valvebody instead. Thanks for the feedback!

*SOLVED* The issue ended up being what was expected. Once opening up the TCM i noticed the cracked connection to the front brake solenoid. After soldering this connection and putting everything back together, it has been shifting as hoped. Been super careful over bumps because I believe a bad pothole caused the connection to break initially. Its been 2 weeks so far and it seems to be holding strong. Appreciate anyone who helped me come to the conclusion!
