06 M35 Rear Dvd "disc read error"

I just purchased a used 2006 M35 with 46K miles on it. It has bluetooth, navigation, back up camera, and rear dvd player.

First off let me say I traded my 04 BMW 530i in for this car and I am so pleased so far, I am so excited to have gotten rid of that BMW!

Now to my question. (hope someone can help)Unfortunatley it did not come with a manual and even upon downloading one I haven't had success with a resolution.

My rear DVD player did not come with head phones or a remote. I have figured out how to get the rear display to flip down, but when I insert a dvd (not copied) the display reads "disc read error" I have tried several dvds and no luck. Is there something I am doing wrong or should I just take it to my dealer, speaking of which how can I found out what my warranty is left on this car. Thanks in advance

You should be covered under the manufacturer's warranty for 60K or 4 years from the date your car was fist placed in service. Since its an '06, the 4 year clock could be coming up on you depending on when it was first purchased/leased but if you take it in now, it should be covered.
