Hi All,

So the fog lamps on 06 M35x have some water residue and rust in them and I would like to replace them. I read other topics on here and found the link to purchase the 04-12 Sentra fog lamps as they are identical to the M.

I am hoping that to replace these lamps all I need to do is remove the lower bumper grille. Has anyone done this before? I read the instructions on the manual but its not very helpful and would like some insight from someone that has done this before. I know it must be clamped on and I am I hoping I can just pull it off and snap it back.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hope this helps. I am going to replace a fog lamp as well - just waiting for the part to arrive, then working it into my schedule.

Seems straight forward enough, though knowing Infiniti, don't hold me to that.

Thanks Larz. I actually have the same print out of that. What confuses me is that is says " Disengage plastic pawls from vehicle inside using a plastic spatula"???? Plastic Spatula? Any thoughts?

Mind you, I have not done this yet, but if you look at the top figure you will see two tabs (I believe these are what they call pawls) and you need to use something plastic (to avoid scratching paint) with a tapered end similar to a flat head screwdrier to pull the edges of the grille insert away fom the bumper (to the left in the figure) where the large #1 arrow is displayed. You pull the grille insert away from the bumper and then forward towrads you to disengage.
Then you have to hold that end outward to get to the #2 fastener and use a screwdriver to turn it to get it to release that clip. Seems its located hear the top and center of the grille insert.

Then you slide a towel behind the grille insert and yank it forward to remove it completely. Apparently that releases the tabs on the remainder of the insert.

I'm hoping that once you get on the floor and start the removal, those little diagrms will make more sense and you will be able to see the tabs and clips easily.

The plastic spatula is a detailaer's tool. Its a long peice of plastic that tapers to a flat, thin end which allows you to wedge it between trim pieces and the body part they attach to.

If I remember correctly, you have stick your hand behind the bumper and go down to the grill and try loosen that "plastic pawls" as stated.
I believe that I used one of those skinny long head pliers to get it open.
I will attempt to do this again on rain stops.

Thanks Wangtang. I will attempt to take a crack at it this weekend. I am just afraid of breaking it off. While them have it off I might as well paint them. :0)

Thanks you too! Keep me posted if it was successful when you do it. I will do the same.

you can also jack up the front end, remove the lower engine splash guard and/or fender liners to access the back of the fog light area....

I changed out my OEM fog lights when one of them cracked from road debris....used an 08 Sentra Fog light as replacement....perfect fit.

here's a pix of the broken OEM fog light and the Sentra Fog light in place....I took out the fog bulb that came with it and installed my Hoen fog bulb...
