.....what a dismal waste! They are absolutely worthless, and at the ripe old age of 6 months and 14k miles, they're both smashed! I'm wondering if anyone has an inexpensive fix, or do I just live with broken glass on the front of my near 50k cruiser till the lease is up? Obvioslyly they will need to be replaced then, but I'm not replacing them every 6 months!

Is it just mine..or bad luck...or what???

Ideas anyone??

Ouch!

Does happen unfortunately. No real solution and even the one I recommend: http://www.stongard.com is not perfect. Sooner or later, some rock will hit hard enough to hurt the fog lights.

No harm in trying the Stongard stuff though ... it apparently handles everything but the hardest hits. I forget whether they make kits to cover lights though ... check their web site or give them a call.

Mine is over a year and a half old and not one problem with the fogs. Weird.

Nothing with Fog Lights... My Windshield however has some principles of attraction that defy the laws of physics and seem to attract rock chips with incredible frequency! I’ve spent enough on chip repair to buy a new windshield already!

The stupid thing is the chips are $30 for the first one, and $10 for each one afterwards – they never seem to happen on the same day, or week – but days after I have the first one repaired!

The headlights, fog lights etc have all held up with not even one issue – I think your getting the same bad luck I have with the windshield, with your fog lights!tk

I used Lamin-x yellow protective film on my fogs and have no cracks or chips. I used the yellow because I love the way yellow fogs look with HID headlights just like my old GS400.
