For some reason, the clutch on the AC compressor has taken a turn for the worse. I followed all the FSM's non-CONSULT troubleshooting (self-diagnostic mode for the climate control, and then the active test for the IPDM E/R). There's 12V getting to the clutch, but it's not engaging the compressor.

At this point, Infiniti would like me to replace the compressor, but this seems awfully wasteful (and expensive!) to replace a compressor that turns freely, but clearly has a broken clutch. Is there a replacement clutch magnet off of another Nissan that might fit?

Thanks for your help!

There I fixed it.

I tack welded the clutch to the pulley.

:chuckle:

If what I've read here (that it's equipped with a variable displacement compressor) is true, that should keep me in good stead for a month or so while I figure out who builds the best replacement.
