Just traded in my M35 I bought new 09/05, 125k miles (traded for a Jag XF Premium). Here’s a brief but complete maintenance history. This might help current owners know what to expect. Only one dealer repair that I can remember. All work was done by myself except for that and xmsn serv.
Reg. gas 100% - (Premium myth busted)
Oil changes every 6 -7 k, Mobile one 10-30, Fram filters.
K&N air filter clean / oil correctly every 10 - 12k. (MAF sensor myth busted)
Cabin filter – x2 (OEM)
Xmsn / diff service – x2 (Dealer)
Fr brakes – x3, rotors x2 (Aftermarket)
Rr brakes – x2, rotors x1 (Aftermarket)
Serp belt – x2 (Aftermarket)
Shocks and struts all – x1 (K&B)
Battery – x2 (Aftermarket)
Tires all – x4 (various, but always perf tires)
Driver seat rails – x1, (warranty)
Nav DVD x1
Windshield x2 (Aftermarket)
That’s it. Never had a “insert-miles-here dealer invented scheduled service”.
No plugs, hoses, brake fluid change, rad flush, TPS sensor rebuild kits, injector clean or anything else.
No issues other than seat rail, ever. The Jag dealer said “honestly this is the best 125k mile trade-in I’ve ever seen”. Got $13,500 for trade. It’s on the Penske North Scottsdale Jag lot right now for $18,000. They’ll probably get $15 to 16k or so.
Now it’s off to the Jag forums. Good Luck!
