Ok so my starter took a crap on me and I've searched google and this site for pictures or a video, but nothing. Can someone who know where it is send me a picture of its location? I know its on the passenger side in the tire area, but I'm still not seeing it. Please no smart a** comments I just need some quick help.

What's up man, welcome to the forum... are u sure it is the starter? I've known of many instances where the battery was no good & ppl thought it was the starter... also, spark plugs & even corroded connectors are known to cause starting problems.

BTW, Here's the OEM starter for $193...

I know its not the battery, when I press the brake and the ignition button everything starts up and I get one click from the starter. I have a multimeter, but I can't find the starter to test it out and see if its that. Just trying to rule things out, don't want to have to get it towed into the dealership. I've changed one before, but never on an Infiniti. And thank you. those rims you have are amazing, if I had the money I'd take em in a second

I found replacements online, but I need to know the location of the starter in the engine bay. Any pictures showing where it is would be greatly appreciated.

Oh ok, good initiative, well, I dont exactly know where it is but I think (not sure) it's like next to the AC compressor on the very front of the engine. Once Steve reads this he'll help u out more than I could on this issue, he's an actual tech... thanks on the compliment man.

ummm, yeah... u dont even know... lmao... imagine coming from Germany (1st duty station) where there's great leadership in both NCO & Officer ranks, great town, great atmosphere, great everything... to Fort Hood, where senior NCOs were always sucking up to officers, nd officers only cared about their OERs, nd squad leaders like me being stuck in between the two and hearing all the bitching & complaining of the joes... Hood, only grew on me because a lot of my buddies from Germany came here...

After the starter tests fine with your multimeter, I highly recommend you at least try a jump start (but don't screw it up and damage your electronics) or replace the battery anyway. I had my 06 M45 car at the dealership because a window wouldn't roll down and they couldn't find the issue because it rolled down for them. Turned out to be the battery. The only reason I didn't end up stranded is because I listened to all the stories on this forum about batteries seeming fine and not being fine. Once the jump start or new battery works, you can determine how old the replaced battery is, at 3+ years, it's most likely done, at less than that, you might want to get the alternator tested right away.

I have problems with my battery all the time... If I don't start the car every two days or so it plays dead... Hook up a jump pack and it fires right up without even pretending to need it... And the damn window auto up keeps re-setting itself. Dealer can't seem to figure it out. I'm on the 3rd battery from them.

On a side note, the OP is correct, as is Blanco... Hood is shytty... But West Range Rd is a blast to drive in the M!!!

I had to have it towed from a garage and the AAA guy said the same thing. After he tested the battery and tried jumping it he agreed that it was most likely the starter. When I've disconnected the battery before things stop working too. My windows and sunroof didn't go up or down with one click. Anyone know anything about that?

Lower the windows all the way down and raise it up, once the window is all the way up, keep holding the button up for 5 seconds and let it go... do that for every window & sunroof. Voila!!!

Its called Caliber collision, its a chain company, but the people at the MV one always make sure everything is done right. They didn't have to do anything for me this time, but they're doing it for free since I've been there before.

I just wanted to give a personal experience on this string. I thought my starter was going out because my car was starting intermittently. There would be a click at the starter but no action and then a delay to the radio and a/c. Turning off the radio and a/c, trying again would sometimes be successful and sometimes not. Oh, I could hear the starter click once and then after about 3-4 seconds there would be a duller click at the starter.
Anyways, I went and had the battery tested prior to replacing the starter and sure enough, it was just a bad battery.
