Recently took my car in for a check engine light and for my rpms sitting at 1500 in idle and was told my bank 1&2 vtc (valve timing control) sensors are bad well bank 1 is but 2 is recommended to replace aswell. Dealership wants $600 to replace, ive been told its fairly easy and takes about 15 mins to do yourself but my problem is Ive searched everywhere to find where they are located and how to remove them but cant find anything and the dealership will not give any info any help would be appreciated thanks guys!

Chad,

you can buy the parts at infinitusa.com here (might get a discount if you mention you're a NICO member):
http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0

Item #23--idk if it's for all 3 sensors, cuz' if you look real close, there are three #23s in the illustration

from the FSM:
Code 1140 is problem with Bank 1
Code 1145 is problem with Bank 2

In the illustration below
The Bank 2 sensor (the LEFT side picture with a number 1) is on the passenger side near the power steering fluid reservoir-you'll have to remove the engine cover-easy

The Bank 1 sensor (the RIGHT side picture with a number 2)-i know they could've done a better job of labeling is on the driver side near the oil dipstick-you'll have to remove the air intake-also easy

Looks like they are attached by a "fixing" bolt--don't know the size, though.

Hope this helps, gl with replacing them

Craig
