Hello, first off I have a 2006 infiniti g35 coupe 6mt.
Now for the very, somewhat detailed rundown of my problem.... I bought the car about a year ago from a guy that lI've in the apartment complex where I was employed at the time. Once I saw the car I knew I had to have it, my supervisor who was there over a year before me had told me about it and had informed me that he was selling it due to something that had happened to the engine while the owner was driving it. He also told me prior to the issue, that the owner had blown a head gasket about 5 months before that and had it repairdone (which I know for a fact because of the receipt I had found in the car after I bought it). But fast forwarding, when I purchased the car it had already been sitting up for the 8 months I had started working there, the issue happened about a month prior so all in all the vehicle has never moved(fact). So when I asked the guy about buying it he had told me, as well as numerous other residents and employees that the car was awesome and ran great. That it was making a weird noise so he parked it and there it sat. I worked on it for 2 days, replaced the battery, oil change, some heep, a little fresh gas and octane boost. It wouldn't turn over. I ended up jumping the car off my truck and whallaaa it started and that's when I head it....a loud overwhelming tapping/knocking. I pulled the engine, pulled the oil pan, exposed the crank and could clearly see the shoot bearing on the 5th cylinder. I could literally wiggle the connecting rod back and forth so I brought it to my dad's buddy who owns a machine shop and had it rebuilt. Now I get the engine back, put it in and I have no fire and the injectors are not spraying. I am beyond puzzled as I've tried everything to my knowledge, (which I'm pretty good at trouble shooting mechanical issues but this is the first time I have ever worked on an engine like this).
Things I've done to try and remedy the problem, at least to my knowledge and misguided information I believe.
Crank sensor and IPDM module, spark plugs all new fuses new battery.
I brought it to the nissan dealer and they told me I had low compression....I get it back and checked the compression myself and it has compression. 155 except for cylinders 3 and 5...which were at 170.. I don't understand that....
Took it to the infiniti dealer and they said that the engine was 180 degrees out...I don't understand this either... the money between parts and advice and towing the car here and there is killing me.
I am very determined to get this car to work. As I feel in love with this car. Took a lot of saving and sacrifices, especially having a young family, to be able for the first time to have a vehicle like this and to not have even driven it, which is dumb thing to do when buying a vehicle.
So please....please if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. I'm new to this forum so I apologize in advance is my post was to long of off base a little. I'm thinking it has something to do with the timing but I cannot find out how to set the cams and timing chain, I've looked all over.
Thank you for your time and god bless.
