Hey everyone. It's my first time posting here.
I own an Infiniti g35x 2006 and I'm having the following issue with it... I got it used with about 75000 miles on it, and it was driving decently. But lately I had to change the catback which I got from Infiniti for$ 1700. The car felt great accelerating. But I realized that also when I do an oil change on the car it runs great but after about one or two weeks the car gets heavy and doesn't accelerate as quick as it should. Would that be more of a problem with the engine? Or what could make that happen???
Thank you

Welcome to NICO
How apparent/dramatic is the problem? Is the vehicle throwing any check engine lights?

No engnine lights on... to be a little bit more precise after I get an oil change the car runs smooth and accelerates with ease, but after a week slow acceleration and it's like the engine is growling... louder than usual.

That's pretty weird man... it doesn't matter what temperature the engine is? What type of oil are you using?

@PapaSmurf2k3
Thank you for trying to help. I'm using 10W30... so now my car must have heard me talk about the problem now it's back to being smooth again. I think it had something to do with the oild maybe being too thick because of an increase of the temperature... or if anything else, it might be the air filter which I'm going to get check ASAP; therefore I don't think it's a serious problem (thank Goodness).
Thank You all

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to run 5w30 in that engine... and if I'm not mistaken, synthetic only? I could be wrong about the synthetic part.

Hey Guys,
It's been a while but I'm back and I think I might have found the problem even if I'm not totally sure yet but can anybody watch the following links and tell me if I'm really looking at a blown head gasket? Man if that's the case I'm gonna have a lot of fighting to do to get that stupid warranty company to get i

My big problem is, it doesn't do it all the time sometimes I hear a knock somewhere inside or around the engine when the car is standing and that's when it has a tendency to give that white smoke/steam. Other time it will not give that white smoke/steam and there would be no knocking noise... Could it be something other then a cracked or blown head gasket?
