When I was shopping for an '04 M45, I found a car on CARMAX that was sporting chrome '06 G35 coupe rims??? They looked good, as an alternative to the standard OEM rim and add a touch of additional sportiness to the car, but....

They are designed for a car much lighter than the M45. Wouldn't they bend easy?

I can't find the rim offset differences listed for both cars anywhere to compare the two?

You can find the 7-spoke G35 rim all over e-bay, but not the offset info.

What do y'all think?

I do not know the offset info on the 06 G35 coupe wheels. My guess is that they are the 30mm and 33mm ones. If so, they should fit on the 2003/4 M45 without too much of a problem. Check out our Wheels/tire forum stickies for info on the offsets on the G35 - the M45 offset info is in the stickies in this M35/45 forum right here, etc.

BTW, I'd make sure to get the 18" wheels only and only buy them if they are at least 8.0" wide - changing to a lower diameter (would not look as good) or lower width (not enough width tire capable then) seems like the wrong thing to do!

In terms of strength, I think that the wheels will be able to handle the weight. Yes, they are lighter and perhaps not as strong, but they ought to work out. Be careful with them for sure - to avoid bending or stressing them.

I agree, in terms of strength you'll have to be a bit more careful. They aren't "true, lightweight, racing wheels" for sure, but they are lighter. You'll be "more" prone to bending your rim going over a bump at freeway higher speeds but i wouln't worry so much.

Let's put it this way, If I wanted to change my sweet 19" wheels that came with my M45 Sport, and swapped them with the G35 wheels, the thought wouldn't cross my mind and I wouldn't worry at all about the strength factor and bending. There are much lighter wheels out there to worry about.

I would worry more about offset and how it looks.

Good luck and I hope it works!! Send pics if you ever get it.
