Has anyone owned both of these vehicles and care to share why one was so much better to you?

I am torn between which will be my next car. Both have so much to offer and I thought someone would care to share their experience.

Also wondering if it isn't better to wait until Jan 1st to get a better deal on a used car considering technically the car just became a year older

Thanks. This forum is great.

I had an A6 3.2 for a month which was borrowed from a friend while he was away, this was to make sure I made the right decision before buying my M35 Sport.

It finished like this, I bought the M without ever test driving one ever!

After driving the Audi, it felt so mundane, lack of feel overall and I know I would have been happier with an S4 instead if it wasn't for the bad gas mileage.

Good luck.

The fit and finish is much better on the A6... 6 speed transmission with paddle shifter is a big bonus.Audi is definitely a good choice but factor in the maintaince cost and the feature on the M, i decided on the M.

I do believe A6 rides better, less road noise as well.... this is my first infiniti coming from VW and AUDI.i'm happy but not sure if I will buy another M in the future.

thanks for the posts so far. I've driven each 3 times and find something additional I like and dislike on each occasion.

Completely off topic but the local Audi dealer has 3 2008 A6 quattro w/ premium and tech packages 15K miles for $31,000. Nothing like losing about 20K equity in a year for those that had to have a new one in January.

If you get the A6, make sure it's an S Line edition as it looks comparable to the M Sport.

I drive 06 M35 Sport and my father owns 08 A6 3.2Q. While my M has more power/features and is sportier, A6 feels smoother with 6 speed transmission, quieter and has better interior quality. Oh, gas mileage is much better with A6 hands down. I'd also admit that the A6 has a better handling even with rear active steering on my M. Hope this helps.

I would still tell you to look at the 03-04 M45 vs the earlier S4s. I drove both and bought the M. The S4 was fun and I enjoyed the 6spd though I felt the M had more bang for the buck. For the 2-7days it snows here I can bear with RWD. I also liked the repair cost on the M vs the S4. Dont buy brand new....you will regret wasting the money either way!

Good luck!Kyle

I am really seeing prices drop over the last 2 weeks.

Local dealer has '06 M45 Sport loaded w/ everything but that rear entertainment system with 33,000 miles for $25,000 in Twilight blue. They dropped $4K overnight. It even has the wood interior in place of the aluminum. Yes it's still "sport"
