06-08 M35/M45 Shock question/information

I am looking to drop my car in the next couple of days.

I already have a set of eibach springs and just need some help with questions.

** 06-08 Model M's (RWD) **
BASE M35/M45:
Are the shocks the same ? In regards of direct swap in between

SPORT M35s/M45s:
Are the shocks the same? I know the are different between the base & sport because of stiffness.

The reason I ask is because I have a 06 Sport M45 and recently purchased a set of springs with the front set installed on base M35 shocks. Should I put my car up and do the swap to my OEM shocks? Yes im being lazy

I seached, googled and no clear answer so I rather start a thread to help anybody in the future

I believe the shocks will be the same for base and sport, only difference will be springs are stiffer and maybe a bit shorter. I may need to do some research to help you out but AWD will be completely different!!

Sounds about right. I didnt think infiniti would produce 4 seperate shocks for the same car.


Anybody else can chime in?

If the shocks are exactly the same then they will probly have less wear and tear than your M45 shocks since the V8 weighs more. If nothings looks out of place just throw them on.

Looks like M35 and 45 as well as sport/base all have different strut part numbers.
