I recently purchased this 2008 m35x I am aware of a previous accident but I recently noticed my taillights are different from everyone else’s ... anyone have a clue on how to switch back? I would like the newer rear end

I don't know how you'd fit an 06 taillight considering the space for the 08 one is smaller, but I'd like to see the picture.

I personally thought the larger 06-07 set to be more visually appealing

You may be comparing your tail lights to an older model. They are VERY similar and you may not notice with a passing glance. If you look closely to the image above from Ed, you will see that the 06 and 07 models have a different trunk lid with round back-up lights, different front bumper, different grille, and different rear fenders. The 08 - 10 models also have blue-white dash illumination and some have the HR engine with dual intakes.
