I have a 2005 Xterra and I saw on ebay a subwoofer specificaly fitted to the right compartment with the net (if you are standing behind the car and facing the license plate) in the cargo are. I think it was a 10" sub and that would be perfect because I do not want a sub sticking out and 10" is plenty bass for me. I tried looking for it again on ebay and on Google but had no luck. Anyone know what I am talking about or where I could get this?

I know the dealer has that assembly for the 2000-2004 body style.

It fits in the drivers side rear panel and replaces one of the 6x9 speakers in the cargo area. But that item is an 8" plastic enclosure with a Rockford Fosgate Woofer which was avilable with the SE/SC model Xterras and Frontiers.

The items were under $300.00 (minus the speaker). Does the 05 have a Rockford Stereo as an option? If so then try your local Nissan Dealer. It's a place to start.

If you want to get a sub-box custom made you can spend anywhere from $300.00 - $800.00 plus the cost of the speaker and amplifier.

If the Fosgate package has a sub (I don't have that package on my 05') than I'd look for a junkyard one and steal it off, there should be some junkers by now you'd think. I hate the stereo in this thing, I'm going to start monitoring local junkyards to get a Fosgate headunit and than replace all the crappy paper speakers with some good ones.

My parents just bought an '05 x-terra. It's got the Fosgate system also. But the sub isn't at the rear panel like your sayin'. It's actually under the driver's seat. But it sounds decent for factory I think.

I wonder if all the X-Terra's are pre-wired to install one, sometimes they do that to save money on not figuing out which ones in advance will have the Fosgate package and which ones will not.
