has anyone needed to replace their Xterra's rear wiring harness? My Xterra keeps throwing a rear left ABS code even after the rear ABS sensor was replaced. On further examination they have determined there is a short or break in my rear wiring harness that is throwing this code. I absolutely can not afford the cost of this repair, anyone have information on how to replace this harness?

I have an '01 Pathfinder and I had a short in the rear left harness. Took it to the dealership (told them there is a short and they didn't believe at first) and they traced the short and fixed it. I cost about $200 and it took them a day of work - I was worried sick that I would need to replace the whole harness.

After they fixed it I foud out that there are tools that can trace the locatin of the short. Look it up online.

Good luck!

I take it that your X is out of warranty otherwise they should replace the harness at no $$$.

Check on the net for the Nissan manuals. You can log in for a one time deal and look up and download the PDFs you need to replace the harness. it's like $20 for a 24hr period

You can buy the whole Factory Service Manual on Ebay for less than $20. Also replacing the harness it is not a job you would want to do (labor wise). Also the price of the harness is around $1000...
