My 05 Sentra 1.8 has been loading up & flooding out when cold if you don't keep it revved up a little (2000 rpms or so) for a few seconds. Are the temp. gage sending unit & the cold/hot sensor for the computer/fuel injection one & the same? Or is there another sensor somewhere-what's it's location? Or could it be something else? Thanks for any help from a new member.

Coolant temp sensor used for the gauge is also the source of the ECU's signal. I assume the gauge is working properly?

Call a dealer and have them check your VIN for recalls, there were some fuel pump issues in some models.

Thanks for reply, temp. gage seems to read normally, I'll change the sensor.

Changing the temp gage sensor seems to have repaired the starting problem, it's been a week now & no other starting issues.

Started good for a month, then same problem, rough running, flooding out on cold start. Removed spark plugs after a no start occurance, they were fuel fouled & 2 had anti-freeze on them, (headgasket). Called dealership, they took care of every thing including oil & filter change & new spark plugs, great service. Hope this will help someone with identical problem.
