I have an 05 SE 5 speed(out of warranty) that had a vibration in the front end when accelerating or going up a hill. Worse when making a right hand turn. Dealer originally replaced wheel bearings and hub assembly. No help. Then they told us that they felt it needed a flywheel and clutch. I took it to an independent mechanic friend of mine and he told me he was pretty sure it was the CV joints. Well, come to find out, you can't just get the CV joints, you need the whole axle assembly. I talked this over with the dealer, and he told me to bring it in, and if it was in fact the axle, he would replace it for me free of charge(since they didn't fix it with the bearings and hub assy). I thought that sounded very responsible of them, so I took it in. Well, I go to pick the car up, and I have a bill for 860.00. I was ******. Seems he replaced the axle and then decided to replace the flywheel and clutch anyway! They did not have my approval to replace the flywheel. We got in a shouting match, and he finally gave up and told me to bring it back in tomorrow and he will put the old flywheel back in. Here is my question.....Is there any chance they damaged the old flywheel when removing it and now will have a problem when they put it back in? I don't trust these guys at all. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well It sounds to me like you have a new flywheel and clutch for free my man he can't do shnit about it if he threats with court just laugh cause it will never stand a chance since they did it without your approval and yes it is a possibility especially if they are digging it back out of the trash. I wouldn't worry about it and if he threatens with taking you to court tell him you already spoke with your attorney. Trust me similar thing happened with my brother and we have two police officers in the family and I asked my uncle to talk to a lawyer about it since he knew a few from being in court here and there and they said that the dealer had no grounds it would be a lost battle going into it for them. sooo worst case is that it goes to court and the dealer gets laughed at if I were you I wouldn't allow them to touch your car again.

Ya dealers are smarmy. Why the hell does everyone bring their car there for repair unless it is covered by your warranty?? Such a jip.
