Hi All

I have an 05 anniversary edition and looking to do some upgrades to the motor. I've done a bunch of research and just not sure of the best bang for the buck without giving up reliability. I have 8500.00 to put into this motor I know it's not enough for TT by along shot or even SC really. Does anyone know how much HP I can get if I go for a Mrev2, headers, hi flow cats and dual exhaust with a flash of course. Would I get 75 HP out of it or do I just keep saving for the TT. I haven't dyno'd the car yet but... I'm guessing it would be about 250 rwhp. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to NICO! :badger

$5K will get you a Stillen Stage 2 supercharger for the RevUp. You'll need to cut your stock hood or get an aftermarket one to clear the supercharger, but it's a worthwhile upgrade. Stillen dynos show the stage 2 SC putting out 390 HP & 360 TQ measured at the flywheel.

You can spend a good chunk of money on some bolt ons and not reach what you can get going with either a supercharger or the TT route. The MREV is a good upgrade for the Rev Up, but it's not remotely in the same league. I doubt you'd get 75 HP from the mods you mentioned.

Another yeller one?! Welcome to NiCO!

Another alternative if you don't feel like swapping out your hood would be a centrifugal supercharger kit by vortech.

Seems to fit your budget as well

Thanks. Yup gotta love the yellow!!! I'm not real keen on getting rid of the stabilizer bar to add power cause I love the curvy roads. The vortech might be the way to go. I seen a turnonetics single for 5000 anyone have or heard about these?

Welcome to Nico!

honestly if you know a lot about turbo motors then there are several kits you could come across that would work great....one of the nicer options being momentum performance turbo kit. Heard lots of good things about it. BUT if you really aren't experienced with the needs of a turbo charged car then I suggest doing some studying first. It never hurts to know as much as you can about the parts you're putting on your car. A more reliable option may be the supercharger kit. Stillen has a proven track record and even sells some good looking hoods to go along with their kits. Vortec makes a great kit too. If I'm not mistaken HKS also makes a kit similar to the vortec one.

The HKS kit with the Rotrex supercharger doesn't work on RevUp engines. No idea why, I was actually looking into it a long time ago and exchanged some emails with HKS about it and they wouldn't say why it wouldn't work, just that it didn't.

The rev ups front cover juts a lot closer forward to the radiator.
As a result there is less room under in front of the motor to attach the pulleys and belts for a SC.
That'd be my guess . :)

Thanks Fred! At least I have an answer about why it won't work. Too bad too, that HKS SC is damned sexy!

I have a Vortech on my 04 and am quite happy with it
Depending on bolt ons I have been between 330 whp(no bolt ons) to 380 ( fully bolted) at the wheels on the basic 8 psi pulley.

That said the Turbonetics Single is tempting and will give you a little extra power for similiar boost.

Nearly all the early Turbonetics kits had severe problems with the quality control of the piping resulting in cracks and also many the early compressors were not very good.
But supposedly both those issues on the Turbonetics have been addressed..
