Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, did some digging and could not find the answer.
Does anyone know what OEM plugs I should put in my 2005 Q45?
Car has 123k (just got it), and plugs are original.
Dealer wants $15/plug = $120 and then another $400 labor to change them! Holy crap.
Looking to pick them up myself and have my local mechanic or a reputable Infiniti mechanic to do it to save some $$$.
Thanks

Here's a link to NGK. It looks like list from their site is $12.06 at a starting price.

I did my own plug change when I bought mine.

I've since purchased new O2 sensors also. One of my other cars is due for its first +100,000 mile first plug change. I plan to also replace O2 sensors on that car as proactive maintenance activity.

Be sure to specify the plug type you want if you order from IOS. They have a tendancy to send the hot plug as default... maybe due to the climate in AZ?

The good news is you came to the right place. I found being a member has and will continue to save me hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Keep in mind that changing these as a DIY'er is not that easy. If your a confident wrencher then go for it, but there is alot of crap you need to remove to get to the plugs, lots of plastic covers and whatnot. I had my mechanic do them around 85k and he charged me for a 2 hours of labor which was a bargain as he only charges $65 an hour, that is cheap for California and alot if you live in Iowa.

If your not confident and experienced, your better off paying someone. I will re-do my plugs in another 6-9 months and have him do the coil packs and O2 sensors while he's got it all taken apart. I only have 94k at this point, but I don't want to go over 5 years between plugs.

Thanks BadQ45t. I had my mechanic do the plugs. Same hourly rate, but only 1.5 hours. So, all told, I spent ~$180 for parts and labor, which is a WHOLE lot less than the $520 my local Infinit dealer wanted!

Good job, that was totally worth the cash. The mechanics are used to disassembly of all those plastic parts now so the hours are not that bad for them, but it would probably have been a hell of a lot more of your time.
