HI folks. New owner here, just purchased a 2005 Murano SL loaded. Did not get the manuals for the factory installed DVD player nor did I get any headphones or remote control. I'm able to get the player to play movies, however, no sound over the speakers. how can I fix this??? I hope I don't have to have a remote or headphones to get this thing to work. BTW: I have the under the arm center console mounted dvd player and BOSE stereo.

Thanks for your help in advanced.

First off, WELCOME TO NICOclub! Glad to have you here as part of the Murano forum!!!

I don't believe you need the remote, the sound is probably being currently fed through the head sets (which you don't have). On my Armada the audio is controlled on the dash through the stereo. I would try some of the stereo buttons, either an AUX button, or something like that. Please let me know if that helps at all.

You can also view your owner's manual for the '05 Murano here if you don't already have it:

Did you check the owner's manual? Other than that, I know if I hit the Aux or DVD button on my dash (I have an Armada).

I have the 04 with the same setup. You need the headphones. I was told by a salesman this past week that you can play it through your radio but I too have not read the manual but the only way I was ever able to get it to work was through the headphones. If you need a pair I can part with one. I actually have 3 sets. I bought 2 thinking I didn't have any and I found a set in one of my cargo storage bins.

Hey Folks, sorry for the slow reply, but YES I did get it to work.. the trick is to hold the AUX button on the dvd player down for about 3-5 sec and also make sure your stereo unit is tuned to 88.5 FM.

Hope this helps.

Wish i had seen this earlier...yes, you have to hold the AUX button for a few seconds.

On a related note, my son broke our remote for our 05 murano DVD factory. Dealer can't replace it and looking to buy a new one. Problem: there is no part number on it. So, pulled it apart and found this information for the remote:DVD-Remote P/N: 191013174250021Clarion 2002-01-12

I've been searching for quite some time to find a replacement and can't find one. If anyone has information, please let me know.

We have 2 headphones. In case anyone wants info on them the only thing i can find is this number but no brands: m3c477072
