Im looking to see how difficult it is to change the serpantine belt on 2005 Maxima. Is this something a dealer has to do ?

there is no serpentine beltthere are 2 seperate belts, 1 runs the power steering pump(which almost never gets cracked), and the belt which runs the alternator and a/c compressor(which only lasts about 30k, until it starts to crack), the ac belt is easy, there is a locknut on the tensioner pulley, loosen that and then there is an adjuster nut above the belt on the front of the motor, loosen the locknut and then loosen the adjuster enough until you can get the belt off, then reverse for installationthe ps belt is a pain... but can be done, same type of setup, locknut and adjuster bolt, getting to them is the hardpart
