Does anyone know how involved changing the serpantine belt is on a 2005 Maxima. Is this something the dealership should do ?

I know on my 95 I changed the belts on a lift removing the right front wheel. Not sure about the 3.5's.

It's probably not too bad. Will probably be easier if you have a spare person (to hold the tensioner pulley while the other person fits the belt in place) but should be easily doable alone. I'll double check the exact process and confirm in a bit.

Pretty straightforward, simpler than I suspected. Biggest issue is space, which isn't terrible. The tensioner is a screw-type, so this is an easy one-man job.

Page 11 here shows the process well. When adjusting the tensioner, don't forget you have to loosen the lock bolt through the center of the pulley itself before the adjuster will work. Then tighten it again when the new belt is in place.
