Within the past month i backed into a snow/ice pile in a parking lot. I was going very fast but still managed to pop some of the plastic fasteners off the drivers side rear lower back fender.I just noticed yesterday that I had a new noise back there....seems there is a sheild of some sorts over the top of the muffler that was touching it and that the lower bracket from the back fender to this sheild was bent. I did my best to pull the shield away from the muffler but wanted to know if this was a easy fix for me or not ?

IM STARTING TO REALLY HATE THE SNOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had my rear bumper off a couple of times and have seen the piece you are talking about but never paid much attention to it. I assume once you get the bumper off (or take a better look under to see if you even have to) it would be a pretty easy fix. Not sure if you need to replace it or just really get under there and bend it back straight.

Not much help sorry...just get your eyes on it and then go from there. And post back what you find!
