Part number is 91210-AM81AAnd it goes for $550 to $650Careful with used ones. Many times they are linked to junkyards, and have hairline fractures and unnoticeable repairs, and they break or crack in a few weeks after you install them. I would really try to get one new, or as new as possible with some buy back protection.

Are the hairline cracks because of wrecking yards, accident or is this something that happens to moonroofs?

The reason I ask is that on two occasions I had this weird happening. Driving down the road, both times in colder weather (near freezing), an extremely loud bang was heard sounding like it originated inside the car which just didn't make any sense.

I asked the dealer about this and he stated that there was nothing he heard about from Nissan on this, but that another owner of an 08 Sedan complained about the same thing.

Perry, usually its because of crashes/wrecks or other semirelated accidents, also improper installation, even though its fairly straightforward, the moonroof will have those tiny breaks and fractures. It could be from them being dropped, or forced in, etc. I have no idea what your loud bang was. Very odd. But I can tell you i've heard similar complaints, very infrequently. In cold weather, on auto trans cars, sometimes you accelerate, and let off the gas, and you continue to accelerate at the precise moment 2nd gear is engaging, and there is a bang and a hard shift. I've had it happen to me. Its fairly normal, cold transmission fluid makes for harder shifts, especially in certain situations. I usually drive in manual mode if I'm not on the highway.

I spoke to the dealer about this and he stated he had one other complaint along those lines. Sort of taken back by it. What seems odd is that I did not perceive anything different as far as the car behaving at the time although it spooked me enough I can say for sure.

The first time I was going about 50 and not doing anything that would have caused it to shift, etc. The second time however that is possible as I had just slowed up for railroad tracks at the bottom of a hill and then going up the hill.

The sound is weird if it is a drive train type of issue since to me is sounds like it originated inside the car, almost like someone shooting something off in the car. Very loud. I heard someone mentioning a moonroof doing this and that is what drew me to this thread.

I have had other rear wheel drive cars that suffered from drive line wrapup and they sounded similar however you definately knew where the sound came from. Still that was my first thought.
