Our G has developed an issue where the doors lock themselves sometimes while driving. I first noticed it making a fairly quick left turn. The issue has developed after the dealership replaced the p/w regulator bolts in the rear doors due to a creaking noise (ITB05-034) - but I don't know if the two are related.

I wonder if there is a lock actuator wire that could be easily nicked during this process and result in an intermittent short. Has anyone else experienced this? It's so intermittent that I feel sure the dealership would have a lot of trouble recreating it - so any advice to point me in the right direction would help.

BTW, our keys were not in a place that could have had a remote button pressed inadvertently.

Thanks!

Heath

Is that what the creaking is in the door?

That's the one! In our case we could open and close the windows and get the noise to go away for a few days.

i havent had this problem, could your knee hit the unlock/lock button on the door as you are bracing for the hard turn? like you press up against the door and maybe depress the door panel?

but i have a simular question... i have yet to find out...

Does the alarm on the g35 automaticly lock the doors if the intelli - key is not in the car, and all the doors are closed, but the "lock" button on the intelli-key hasnt been pressed?

i have observed that the car alarm with turn it self on after about 1 min or so of inactivity, like no door being opened/closed. but the doors are still unlocked after that first min or so...

i havent formally stood by the car and waited to see what would happen yet.

this happened to me outside a bar at 2am while i was warming up my car. i stepped out to talk to my GF in her car, and the g locked me out. it happened another time with my dog locked in the car running. I had to call a tow truck for the bar incident, and wait while cops passed by me drunk outside my locked running car. wtf?now i roll the windows down when i get out while its running/.

This behaviour is typical. If you want your doors to stay unlocked, you have to open them.

I think it's a security measure. That way you don't unlock the doors and forget to lock them again.

My car doors will lock themselves and activate the alarm when I unlock with the FOB and don't open the door for a min or two. If I open the door before it locks itself it has never locked again. This has never happened inadvertently to me while the key has been in the ignition.

Good luck with that Q.

1+

I have the same situation, it won't actually allow me to lock the doors if the keys are in the ignition...

Which is good because I only have one set right now
