My Cargo light stays on for like 2 hours after parking my truck. I think the only reason it shuts off is due to the battery saver function. Does anybody else have this problem? I doesn't have a keyless remote. I this related to the factory keyless entry?

first make sure the cargo light switch on the dash is in the off position. If thats ok you may be right as far as the keyless goes, A way around it is to lock the door with the key when you get out, that should put everything in sleep mode. I suspect its because your switch is on. This tends to be a problem on the Titans as well.

If the above mentioned suggestions dont help pull out the owners manual and see what it tells you about the light. To find all reffrences in the book to it ,go tot he back of the book and look it up in the alphabetic index.

After playing around with it the cargo light, it will shut off if you do one of the following locking techniques everytime you get out of the car.1. after shutting the car off turn the cargo light on and back off.2. lock the car with lock switch and then shut the door.

This is really frustrating the dealer tired to sell a keyless system for $500. This vehicle is equipped with the factory anti-theft sytem and the NVIS in the key. The anti-theft system is usually a combined module on most Nissans. So did the dealer just try to get an extra $500 for a keyless entry remote with a friggin 33ft range? For $500 I could buy (5) Clifford Matrix 10.5x remote start/ keyless/ security/ spread spectrum... etc. I just want to know if the truck is already equipped with the equipment and needs a remote programmed.

Thx

the newer nissans thats not true. To find out if you are wired for keyless entry. try to do the remote program procedure.

1] get into the car with key in hand.2] close the door and lock it with the master switch. 3] insert and remove the key from the ignition switch repeatedly. It should take about 10 complete inserts and complete withdraws from the ignition switch. do this kinda fast but be sure you go all the way in and all the way out each time. dont count though as it is not always the same amount each time. now if you have the keyless in the car your hazard lights should flash [both turn signal indicators will flash in your instrument cluster.]If they flash you just need to buy a remote I thing its like between 50 and 90 dollars.

This procedure can sometimes be difficult to do so if you dont get it on the first try unlock and open the door and try it again. opening the door resets everything. Then you just start from step one again.

Nope no factory modules, i guess because the lights didin't flash. I'll probably just install a aftermarket system. It does have factory anti-theft system. Thanks for your help.

The SE's have all the stuff for the keyless already installed. All you have to do is get the remote and program it. It is the same procedure for programming as NISTECH posted, but the hazard lights don't flash to let you know. I know mine didn't. I bought 2 remotes off ebay for $14 each, and did the procedure to program them. Never when programming did my hazard lights flash, or anything to let me know that it would work, until I hit lock on the remote and my locks locked.

you had to of missed it. All nissans flash their hazards when it goes into programming mode and when you hit the remote during the process. There is an exception to this, the 2000 quest, and xterra flash the parking lights when programing.

Well, I've programmed two remotes, and neither time did it flash when it entered programming mode. I even did it about 10 times to see if I missed it. I figured I might as well go through the whole procedure and see if worked, and when I hit the lock button on the remote, the doors locked, and only then did the hazards flash.

So silvia 2b, my advise is to spend $15, buy a remote off ebay, and try it. Worst comes to worst, it doesn't work and you sell it on ebay again.
