05 Armada 2nd Row Seat

I know this might be a strange question. I am looking for an eight passenger SUV and ran across a really good deal on this Armada that has 4 captains chairs. Is it possible to swap out the captains for a bench? Not sure if all of the attachment points are the same for seat belts and such.

I don't know the answer, but you could call the dealer and see if captain chairs were an option or not. I am sure if they were an option then they would be interchangeable...

When I was pricing the vehicle on KBB and Edmunds, one of them made it look like the bench was the option. Not really sure, maybe on 05 owner can chime in?In my experience the dealer is not always the best source of information for questions like this. If this was a dealer installed option, then I would trust their answer. But seats are a factory installed option and all the dealer knows is that the truck can be equipped either way when built. I am not willing to gamble on the fact that because it can be equipped either way, they are interchangeable. Hopefully someone has actually looked into this?

Short answer is no. I have an 05 with the captain's chairs and thought the same thing also. I can't remember where I read it from, but the anchor points for the seat belt and bench are in different locations. You'd have to weld the bench into the floor board in order to make it work. It sounded like more trouble than it was worth so i'm stuck with my captain's chairs.

OTH, I wish I had waited for a good deal on an 06 because of the 60/40 spilt in the thrid row. There have been times when that would have been a great feature to have. Just throwing it out there..

Either way..i still love my (my wife's) QX56. It's a fantastic car.

Actually - I found several people over on Club Armada that have done the switch. Simple as unbolting and bolting in the new.
