The 2005 Altima is powered by a 250-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine with 249 lb-ft of torque. The Altima’s exterior features smoked headlamps and taillights, a smooth front fascia with a distinctive raised hood design, Nissan family grille, chrome accents on SL models and large 16- or 17-inch wheels.

Altima’s stylish interior comes with a list of standard amenities including power windows and locks, 3-gauge “cochpit” instrument pod with chrome accents, multi-function trip computer, tilt and telescopic 3-spoke steering wheel, 6-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo, height-adjustable center counsel armrest and an available DVD-based Navigation system.

I'm aware of the typo in quotations. The system won't let me say c:eek:ck.

I like that they put the Majestic Blue on the Altima. I sold my first 05 yesterday. It was...Majestic Blue.

jayson get up some pics of the interior. I like the changes they made inside. It is so much more technical looking then the earlier L31.

i juss bought a '04 altima. i love it but i like the changes they made for the '05. does anyone have a clue to how much it would cost me to make the visual changes to make the '04 appear like the '05 inside and out?

well about 6oo for the bumper (front) and 5oo a pair for the headlihgts, and god knows how much for the rims. Personally, i HATE the new grille, i like the old rims better, i lke the old tailights better. The ONLY thing on the new ones i like : 5 more HP, and the blacked out headlights (alhtough i like hte old shape better)

I like the changes, except for the wheels. I liked the previous years 3.5 wheels better.

I would never buy a new car and get one with hub caps. I would have to have the alloy wheels unless I had a set of rims laying around at home just wiating to be on the car.

that was my intention when i bought mine with hubbies, besides, i HATED the 4cyl alloys, i thought the hubbies looked better. But oh well, im used to em now, either way i think the old 6cyl rims look better than the new ones. Or ive also see the Touring rims from teh Z on the altima, those are sexy

I haven't paid too close attention to the new wheels. I saw them at the local nissan dealership but didn't stop to look for very long. I definitely do like the pre-'05 3.5's wheels very much tho

I like the new 3.5 wheels myself.

Bud I think that they are going to have 2 new trim packages but the 3.5se will be the top.It would be nice to see a V Spec version or something besides the Nismo add ons.

There is a guy that I work with who owns a 04 3.5se. He said that they are going to come out with a "Type R" altima sometime in the future he said. I'm not sure if it'll be called the type r, most likely not, but I knew that he meant they are planning on making a more performance oriented version of the altima. True or not? I do not know.

There is no way there will ever be a Type R Nissan EVER!!!!(at least I hope not)

I was checking out the 05 3.5se loaded at Collins Nissan last week at our Z club meeting. The car really grows on you if you see it in person.

if type "R" mean all wheel drive as I suspect it does. The altimas undercarrige is set up in a fasion that it could accept a rear drive setup. That was pointed out in new model training when the 02 came out. How the engine configuration would be set up would be similar to that of the murano.

I didn't mean for it to be a "type R" I just meant that some type of performance tuned version of the altima would be made some time down the road. It most likely wont be called type r, that's just the only two words I coudl think of that would describe it and people would be able to relate to it.

i dont see them making an AWD altima, it would take too many sales away from the Gsedan, personally, as a sedan, i think the altima looks better than the G. Also, the new tailights all red, instead of an orange blinker (i like the old style). All in all it still looks good, and chances are they'll have an Altima S Tune or something

Can't tell alot from the pics, but I like the previous few years Alty better. I liked the smoked headlights, but not the shape as much. The rear end doesn't look much differnet, I like it. Basically I dont like the grille or the wheels as much (at least on the car in the very top picture, I think they are diff. than the picture Dane put up).
