Idk if you got the same problem but I had to get my trans changed on my auto 02 altima when it would rev up between 2 and 3. Every time it shifted from second to third it would rev as hard as I had the gas pedal down. It started off as a little thump then just went to a 2 second slip even when I shifted the car myself from 2 to third. Hope it helps=]

I have the same car, and mine has been shifting hard spiradicaly, but now its doing it all the time in the same gears as yours...not sure what to make of it. i read awhile back when i had an oil sensor problem a lot of others at the same milage were having to same problems...curious if so many of us are having the same problems if they would be covered under warrenty>?

My mom is having a similar problem in her auto 2.5 Altima, I plan on changing the transmission fluid soon to see if that does anything for it.

Some food for thought though, Nissan advises against flushes for our Altimas;

All it takes is a tiny piece of dirt to start causing shifting problems. I agree with everyone else and say filter and fluid change.
