Alright... Here goes nothing. THanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I've purchased a remanufactured engine directly from Nissan and had my transmission rebuilt from a local shop that also did the engine install. I have an 05 Altima 2.5. with a nismo intake, srs headers, and magnaflow catback dual exhaust and what's I'm dealing with is when I'm driving on the freeway and floor it, the car will shift all the way through but when approaching 80mph the rpms will be stuck at about 5000rpms and if I keep the pedal all the way down the car will remain at that speed and rpms. As soon as I release the pedal or ease up on the pedal the car will shift into 4th gear if I'm not mistaken and continue driving(slowly at those speeds). But the odd thing is if I do not floor it or keep my foot all the way down on the gas pedal and kinda drive it lightly the car will shift eventually. This happens pattern happens every single time. I initially had a tango shift kit installed with the transmission rebuild but then had it removed bc the mechanic assumed that was the cause of the car limiting my speeds, which didnt make sense to me and the end result didnt resolve anything so the next thing they want to try is reflashing my ECU? Is that required or make sense? What do you think needs to be done?

At this point any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated everyone... I've been stuck with this issue now for a couple months. Hope it makes sense. :wtf2: Lol

Welcome to NICO!

If I were you, I would never have waited so long to get it back to the shop that did the installation. You need to take it back there. It sounds much like a transmission issue to me, which means someone botched the rebuild somehow.

My advice - take the car back to them, but having waited as long as you have, they're likely going to pin the repair on you because they have to assume something else went wrong. Unless they gave you a warranty for the work, you're likely going to get stuck with the bill. Good luck.
