How fast should I be going when changing into 4th gear?

Im not sure if something is wrong or if im just not going fast enough because when im cruising on the highway going 60 if I switch from Drive to Manual mode, it has me in4th gear. If I floor it the MPH will increase but the RPM is going so slow to increase.

Should i be ringing 3rd gear out to 80 and then go into 4th gear?

Same in my 04 g35x when I use manual mode. The reason it puts you in 4th is for power I'm assuming. I haven't done much research on the issue as I don't use it much because the shifts are slower then hell. I have done some reading on the transgo transmission kits for these autos and from what I've seen/read/watched the kit increases the line pressure and makes the shifts a bit firmer as well as quicker. I've read all good things about the kit but also would suggest having it installed by a transmission specialist or trusted shop because it's quite a bit to take on if you have no transmission experience. Regardless whether or not you're in manual mode the cars ecu is going to protect the engine from over revving so it will still shift for you upon deceleration and hard acceleration to my knowledge. Hope this helps!

Never increase line pressure in the transmission. It will reduce longevity of the transmission. It's better to enlarge holes in the valve body separator plate to increase fluid flow, not pressure. I am not familiar with Infinti transmissions so I can't tell you which holes to drill, but that's the way to go.

Regarding the OP's question....

What are the RPMs at in 4th at 60MPH? I'd suspect you should drop it down to 3rd to rapidly accelerate.
