Any thoughts to share on swapping my vg33er for a vh45de? Would it fit under the hood? I've read somethings that leads me think there is a chance my auto transmission might bolt up with out a plate, true? Any one know a shop in the Alabama or southeast that could handle it?

I'm sure it will fit under the hood, seeing how it was already bulged up for the SC, fitting between the frame rails is another story, it might be a tough fit. The auto transmission is similar, and all the nissan rwd autos use the same bolt pattern on the transmission side of the bellhousing, so you could just swap the VH bellhousing on to the X's transmission (or possibly swap the tailhousing+transfer case to the VH transmission).

I plan on taking some measurements and what not once I get a hold of my VH for my S14 swap, and look at the feasibility of putting one into an X (I have an '03 sc auto 4x4 as well), and if that doesn't work out, I will just have to find a TD42T

Thanks and would like to hear any updates. My x is close to 185k miles and has needs, ks, cats/or headers, service sc, etc. Looking at cost of repairs and pulleys, cams, headers, etc. I think I could possibly get the v8 in for as much and be better off power wise. And well there's not much comparison between the vg33er and the vh45de. I've heard of Chevy swaps, but who wants a bow tie in their hamburger? I saw were a frontier had brake booster clearance issues with a vg30de from the width of the intake and went another direction. So my thoughts are that it might pose an issue with this swap as well. But the vh from images doesn't appear as wide. I think I can handle the labor, but wouldnt know where to start with wiring. Motor mounts fab help would be needed too.

Great to know about the transmission. I would think the vh would be the better of the 2?

And if it count fit there may be an x for sale. Hello armada...
